In addition to receiving Latvian certification, the bachelor’s and master’s study programmes at the Faculty of Computing have also been re-accredited at the European level and given the “Euro-Inf Quality Label.” Currently, only the University of Latvia has such a reputation for excellence in Latvia.
The introduction of the European Quality Label aims to enhance student mobility, ensure common accreditation criteria for computing and information technology study programmes across Europe, and promote the quality and transparency of these programmes. The European Quality Assurance Network for Informatics Education (EQANIE), a non-profit organisation founded in Germany in 2009, awards the label based on the recommendations of an international panel of experts who evaluated computing and informatics study programmes as well as computing faculties or departments. Study programmes at the bachelor’s and master’s levels that adhere to the standards defined by the European Quality Designation are given the label.
