What is GRE Exam?

The average total score is between 560 and 570. The average Verbal and Quantitative scores are normally in the upper 20s and low 40s, respectively. Both the mean IR score and the mean essay score often fall between 4 and 5. Information on the GMAT’s scoring is provided here.

Thousands of graduate programmes throughout the world accept GRE test scores that are made available 10 to 15 days after the GRE test date for masters and doctoral degrees. The GRE scores are accepted by law schools, business schools, and other organisations worldwide, according to the official ETS GRE website. Why take the GRE Test?

GRE Exam: In addition to being one of the exams that universities most frequently accepted for admission to graduate programmes, students who want to pursue MS programmes, MBA programmes, professional degree programmes, or who choose to do thesis work must take the GRE General Test or GRE exam as part of the university admissions process. In addition, the standard business school entry exam, the GMAT, is increasingly being rejected by business schools in favour of the GRE. A small but growing number of American law schools also accept the GRE as an alternative to the LSAT, which is the standard test for admission to law school.

What is GRE Score Validity?

GRE Validity: Candidates frequently misunderstand the validity of their GRE scores. Any applicant who took the GRE on April 3, 2021 may therefore report their results up to April 2, 2026.

GRE Waived for Fall 2022

Given the unique circumstances brought on by COVID-19, many US universities abroad are temporarily doing away with the GRE tests. Many colleges have also made the GRE optional for applicants, replacing it with several years of relevant work experience. Although this is just temporary, candidates are advised to take the GRE because doing so will only benefit their application process in general.

Indian students would pay extra for the GRE General Test.

It may come as a surprise, but ETS has increased the GRE General Test Fee from US $205 to US $213 as of October 2020. Starting on October 7, 2020, applicants enrolling from India will need to pay the revised GRE Registration Fee of US $213. The cost of changing the GRE test centre and rescheduling the GRE exam is the only other price that has not increased.
