Medical scholarships around the world (Part1)

It is widely acknowledged that producing skilled physicians and medical researchers is important. This is one of the reasons why graduate scholarships for medical students are so widely available and provided by medical universities all around the world.

Scholarships for medical school are less popular for undergraduate students. However, there are still a variety of ways for students to get funding for a first degree in health and medical fields, depending on the type of programme they choose. Check for potential scholarship opportunities no matter what your area of interest is, from tropical medicine to hereditary disease.

The varieties of medical scholarships available worldwide at all degree levels is illustrated in the following instances.

To study in North America

  • AMA Minority Scholars Award – scholarships for those pursuing medicine in the US who are from underrepresented groups. Native Hawaiians, Alaskan Natives, American Indians, and African-Americans are among the students who qualify.
  • American College of Surgeons International Guest Scholarships – International scholarships are available for graduates between the ages of 35 and 50 who are interested in studying or conducting research in medicine in the US.
  • AMWA Awards – The American Medical Women’s Association provides all of its student members with fellowships and scholarships for medical school.
  • ASCP Siemens Scholarships – Scholarships for graduate medical technologists, technicians, and scientists to attend particular medical schools in the US.
  • ASME Grants and Fellowships – Several overseas scholarships are available for medical students, educators, and researchers to further their studies both inside and outside the US.
  • Edith SeVille Coale Scholarships – Scholarships for female medical students in their third year studying in the US at one of four medical institutions close to Washington, DC, including the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University.
  • Harvard Medical School – There are medical scholarships available, such as the Emirates Cardiac Society Scholarships, where students from the United Arab Emirates are given preference.
  • University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine Awards – Scholarships for doctoral study for students enrolled in the University of Calgary’s MD programme in Canada.
  • US Army Health Professions Scholarship Program – In any authorised medical, dentistry, veterinary, psychology, or optometry programme in the United States or Puerto Rico, the US army will cover 100% of the tuition for a graduate-level healthcare degree. solely applicable to citizens of the United States.
  • United Health Foundation/NMF Diverse Medical Scholars Program – Medical students that identify with a minority group, are US citizens, and are currently enrolled in medical school may apply for 32 prizes totaling $10,000 (£8,270).
  • The Recovery Village Health Care Scholarship -  A student or permanent resident of the US studying a medical-related programme may be eligible for a $1,000 prize. You must write an essay explaining why you are passionate about health care, with an emphasis on substance misuse and mental health, in order to apply.
  • Tylenol Future Care Scholarship – Students interested in jobs in healthcare can apply for 10 grants worth $10,000 and 30 awards worth $5,000. To apply, you must be a citizen of the United States or Puerto Rico and enrolled in undergraduate or graduate education.
