Sydney Scholars India Scholarship Program

Established in 1850, The University of Sydney is a Public research university constantly ranked in the top 50 in the world. University of Sydney is home to the brightest and most talented minds from across the world. University of Sydney to strengthen the bond with India has launched Sydney Scholars India Scholarship Program. The Scholarship is a unique initiative to strengthen research and industry partnership by supporting students. Each Year university offers 28 such scholarships to brightest minds.

Benefits

The benefits of 28 scholarships offered by university are as follows;

● 3 scholarships worth $40,000 per annum for any undergraduate degree of up to four years
● 10 scholarships worth $20,000 first-year scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students
● 15 scholarships worth $10,000 first-year scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate students

Eligibility Criteria

● The Candidate must be Citizen of India
● The Candidate must also be resident of India proof will be required
● The Candidate must have received unconditional offer letter from university for undergraduate or Postgraduate
● Students studying second degree at university are eligible to apply provided did not received the scholarship previously

Application Process
The application process if online the candidate has to apply between April to July. Other details can be obtained from the university website when the scholarship is open.

Selection Process

a. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and personal statement assessed from a student’s application for admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree and the details provided in the scholarship application.
b. The Scholarship will be awarded on the nomination of a selection committee consisting of two academic nominees and two non-academic nominees made by the Vice-Principal (External Relations).
Termination of Scholarship

The university scholarship award terminates if student is found to be indulge in any of the following activities;

I. withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,
II. becomes a domestic student,
III. commences part-time study without prior approval,
IV. does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,
V. is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,
VI. has accepted another scholarship administered by the University of Sydney (funded by the University or by a third party), excluding the Sydney International Student Award, of a value exceeding A$5,000 per annum,
VII. does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave, or
VIII. any other provision as indicated in these terms that would lead to termination.
